Prophet Idrees (Idris) was the sixth
descendant of Adam. According to the history, Prophet Idrees residing in Egypt.
Prophet Idrees preached for the religion of Allah SWT. Teaching tawhid and
worshiping Allah SWT, and giving instructions to his followers to save
themselves from torment in the hereafter and destruction in the world. Prophet
Idrees had the original name Khanukh (Akhnukh), he was called Idrees because he
always studied the Prophet Adam's manuscripts. He is a descendant of Adam who
was first given prophetic after Adam and Syits.
Some of his advice include:
1. Patience accompanied by faith in God will bring victory.
2. A happy person is someone who is introspective and expects the
intercession of Allah with his good deeds.
3. If you ask for something to God and pray, then sincerely express
your intentions. Likewise your fasting and prayer.
4. Do not swear in a lie and do not take an oath from someone who
lies so that you do not associate with them in sin.
5. Do not be jealous of people who are fortunate for their fate,
because they will not be much and long to enjoy their fortune.
6. Whoever passes through simplicity (spree, extravagance,
exaggeration) then no one will satisfy him.
7. The life of that person should contain wisdom.
Prophet Idrees (Idris) has been
blessed with various intelligence and skill, and is able to make tools that
facilitate human work. Mentioned in various stories that Prophet Idrees was the
person who first taught sewing, arranging clothes, calculating science, natural
sciences, astronomy, mastering various languages, understanding medical
problems, and writing with a pen.
In a story, there was a time when
most people forgot to remember Allah SWT so that Allah punished humans with
long forms of drought. Prophet Idrees (Idris) pleaded with Allah SWT to end the
sentence. Allah SWT granted the prayer so that the long dry season ended with a
marked rainy season.
There is a story about Prophet
Idrees (Idris) with the Angel Azrael/Izrail. When Prophet Idrees was visited by
the Angel Azrael/Izrail and Prophet Idrees asked, "Hi Angel Izrail, you
come to take life or visit?". Izrail replied that he came to visit with
God's permission.
Then Prophet Idrees said that Izrail
revoked his life and then God revived him so that he could worship again after
feeling the sakaratul maut. Izrail said that he could not take someone's life
without Allah's permission. So God gave revelations to Izrail to revoke the
life of Prophet Idrees, then this happened. Izrail cried and begged Allah to
revive Prophet Idrees. So Prophet Idrees came back to life and was asked about
the taste of the sakaratul maut. He replied, "Indeed, the sakaratul maut
is like a living animal skinned alive, even a thousand times more sick".
The angel Izrail said, "I will subtly and cautiously take away such a life
forever".
Then Prophet Idrees told Izrail that
he wanted to see hell so that he could worship God earnestly after seeing
shackles, chains, and scorpions. Izrail said, "How can I go to hell
without Allah's permission".
So God gave revelation to Izrail so
that he and Prophet Idrees went to hell. Angel Izrail and Prophet Idrees went
to hell. Then Prophet Idrees saw various torments in hell. Then Prophet Idrees
returned and told Izrail that he wanted to see heaven in order to increase
worship. Izrail said, "How can I go to heaven with you without Allah's
permission". So God gave permission to Izrail to go alone and both stopped
near the door of heaven.
Prophet Idrees can see that in
heaven there are various pleasures and beauty. Prophet Idris said, "O my
brother, I have felt the pain of death, I have seen the helliest hell in which
there are various torments and dooms. Then ask you for God to allow me to enter
heaven and drink the water so that the pain of the death will disappear in my
skull and avoid the infernal torment of hell".
Izrail pleaded with God and was
allowed. Then both of them enter heaven then come out. Then Prophet Idrees
entered again into heaven and put his sandals under a large tree in heaven.
Then Prophet Idrees said to Izrail, "O Izrail, my sandals are left in
heaven under a large tree, then return me to heaven". So Prophet Idrees
was in heaven and did not want to come out. Izrail calls on Prophet Idrees to
get out of heaven, but he still does not want to. Prophet Idrees said,
"Every person must feel the sakaratul maut, and I have felt it". So
God gave revelation to Izrail, "Leave him (Idrees). Indeed, I have
established since ancient times that he belongs to the inhabitants of
heaven".
Such is the end of the story,
Wallahu A'lam.
