MAQUETTE BETTERPAD-RAY - Floor Material for the Shahada Mosque / Masjid Syahadat (design)

The floor is a part of a building that is important to be discussed and considered in the design of the Shahada Mosque (Masjid Syahadat) which is part of the Betterpad-Ray (Benteng Terpadu Raya / Great Integrated Fortress "Mural Wall") model/maquette/mockup, God willing if it is realized. Floors are components of mosque buildings that function to resist seepage of ground or animal water from the ground and vice versa. The floor also functions as a load restraint on it and can be called a space barrier at the bottom. In general, floors can be grouped into two types: interior floors inside buildings and exterior floors that are outside the buildings.

Reinforced concrete floor is a type of floor commonly used in concrete rebates, namely concrete terraces around buildings, walkways, and work floors. The work floor is a ground floor for cast concrete which is 5 cm thick. The role of the work floor is so that the cement water does not seep into the soil so that the concrete is not easily porous. The advantages of this type of floor are strong and sturdy. This floor has a gray color that displays a natural impression if it is outdoors, easy to implement, and can be coated with other types of floors if it is dull. However, this floor does not have the impression of luxury, looks monotonous and boring if made for interior floors, and easily mossy. This type of floor can be applied around the building or yard. But you should not use it for the entire outer floor of the building and also do not need to be wide, because there must be cracks or places for water infiltration or waterways. But the use of concrete floors for sports fields and the like must indeed be entirely due to the smooth running of sports activities.

Ceramics are floor coating materials that are widely used for various buildings, including mosques. Ceramics are widely used for building floors because they are easy to obtain, easy to install, and easy to maintain. Ceramics for the floor also have a variety of beautiful patterns, some even look like marble. Ceramics can be used for interior floors and exterior floors. Ceramics for interior floors have a soft texture and tend to be slippery especially if exposed to water. While ceramics for exterior floors and wet areas have a rough texture. Ceramics are rough or given a texture with a certain pattern suitable for use in the bathroom because it is not easy to slippery. The ceramics are also suitable to be installed in ablution rooms. Ceramics for buildings or public facilities that are important or must remove footwear should be bright or white so that if there are relatively small dangerous animals can be seen. Bright colors also give the impression of being bright and clean.

It's good when buying ceramics, the amount is increased by about 10% of the original requirement for ordinary installation and 15% - 25% for the floor that is considered to be part of ceramics pieces due to diagonal tiling. While the rest can be stored for use in repairs at other times to obtain the same ceramic colors and motifs. Construction of the Shahada Mosque and other buildings in Betterpad-Ray will calculate the number of ceramics quickly and also prepare reserves. Installation of ceramics must be neat and if there are patterns then the position must be the same. If there are ceramics that are forced to be cut to match the size of the floor, then the cut side of the ceramic must face the wall of the building. The Shahada Mosque management office is the most likely to use ceramics, because it is not displaying beauty to the public. But this planning is certainly still easy to change.

Granite or marble is a classy floor coating material and makes the appearance of the room or place more luxurious and beautiful. The luxurious impression of granite or marble can be shown on the porch. Both types of natural stone do have the same impression, which is to have the impression of a natural and strong luxury. When viewed from the type of material, granite comes from igneous rock with its dominant quartz mineral composition so that on average there will be a prominent motif of fine spots. Granite is also very hard and not easily cracked. While marble comes from a type of material with the composition of the mineral calcium carbonate which is dominant and is processed naturally in high temperatures. Marble has a variety of color choices like in wood, some even have beautiful abstract motifs from naturally formed fibers. Both types of stone are indeed suitable to be installed in buildings with high aesthetic value, especially for mosques.

Natural stones or paste stones can also be used for coatings on the outside floor and have quite interesting color and texture variations. The type of floor is suitable if applied around the park or around the mosque's ablution room, including the design of the Shahada Mosque at Betterpad-Ray. For around ablution rooms, the selected natural stone is more waterproof and not easily mossy.

Carpets are installed on permanent floors, such as wood floors, plastering, ceramics, concrete, or other types. Carpets can be installed permanently or in the form of rolls. Usually permanently installed carpets are used for soundproof rooms, such as cinemas. Whereas roll carpets are often found in mosques or prayer rooms. Carpet needs that will be permanently installed must be adjusted to the floor area to be coated and must be glued. Carpets for mosques should be of good quality so they are durable. The pattern or image of the mosque is an Islamic image, but it should be simpler or not too "crowded" so that worshipers can worship without losing concentration. The color of the carpet should also be soothing, for example green. Carpets for mosques must be cleaned frequently and sometimes washed because they are often used and mosques as holy places must certainly maintain cleanliness and beauty.

This is the article from me. Hopefully the design of the Shahada Mosque (Masjid Syahadat), which is part of the Betterpad-Ray (Benteng Terpadu Raya / Great Integrated Fortress) model, can inspire and be realized. Aamiin.
