Jesus lived his childhood and grew up in Egypt. One
time, a despotic ruler who wanted to kill him (Herodus of Rome) had died. So
Mary and Jesus decided to return to Palestine. In Palestine, the Jews continued
to make mischief and lies. They continue to commit crimes for their own sake
and make the weaker people suffer even more.
Until in Palestine, Mary and Jesus chose to live in
a village called Al Nasirah (Nazaret) located between Mount Al Jalil. That is
where Jesus will receive the commands of Allah SWT through His angels to
deliver the message of Allah SWT. Jesus lived with glory. Jesus lived his life
by often remembering Allah SWT and doing good. He is not afraid of anything
except to Allah SWT. Jesus has absolutely no desire to gain worldly pleasure
and power. Jesus often left alone and thought about the fate of the Jews who
continued to do injustice. It occurred to his mind to be able to guide the
Israelites (Jews) to the right path.
Jesus often went to Jewish places of worship. Jews
have a very sanctified day, Saturday (Sabat). On that day they worshiped and
there were restrictions for them, even the Jews added their own restrictions
which made problems. When Jesus walked to the place of worship, his hair looked
soft until it reached his shoulders. The clothes he wore were also simple, it
is white clothes made of coarse wool (fleece). While other people go to places
of worship by exhibiting their best and luxurious clothes. When Jesus was in
the place of worship, the place was full of people going back and forth. The
place of worship was luxuriously decorated and beautiful, very contrary to the
real darkness of the hearts of the people.
One day, angels suddenly appeared before Jesus and
conveyed the command of Allah SWT to teach His message to humans, especially
Jews. At that time Jesus was appointed a Prophet and Messenger. According to
history he was appointed as a Prophet at the age of thirty. Thus, Prophet Jesus
had borne enormous responsibility to spread the message of Allah SWT. Allah SWT
and Ruhul Qudus always supported him.
When people were busy with various jobs, Prophet
Jesus gathered people to listen to his preaching and good news, including news
about the coming of the Last Prophet or the End Times Prophet.
Surah Ash-Shaff verse 6:
6. And [mention] when Jesus, the son of Mary,
said, "O children of Israel, indeed I am the messenger of Allah to you
confirming what came before me of the Torah and bringing good tidings of a
messenger to come after me, whose name is Ahmad." But when he came to them
with clear evidences, they said, "This is obvious magic."
Da'wah of Prophet Jesus always invites people so
that they only believe and worship Allah SWT and lead them back to the right
path. The hypocritical Jewish monks did not like the contents of the message
conveyed by Prophet Jesus. They refused because Prophet Jesus called on people
to help the poor and feed those who were starving. Prophet Jesus stated that
the Jewish monks had deviated from the Torah. Indeed, the Jewish monks like to
cheat by always taking the property of the poor on the pretext that the property
is an offering to God.
At the time of Prophet Jesus, the Jewish hypocrites
reneged on the end and resurrection day. They do not believe in reckoning,
punishment, and reward. They display faith while hiding their disbelief. The
Jewish monks opposed Prophet Jesus. They spread slander by saying that Jesus
Christ was a deceiver and did not believe. They also accused Mary of committing
adultery, even though Mary was a holy woman.
The Jewish monks do not believe in spirit and prefer
materialistic life, that is money is everything. They assume that spirit is
actually material that circulates through the arteries. Therefore, Prophet
Jesus corrected the heretical thoughts by calling on the Israelites to believe
in the spirit and not be materialistic. He stated that spirit is the word of
Allah SWT. But the monks continued to deny this.
To prove the true nature of the spirit, Prophet
Jesus showed a handful of clay that he held to the monks.
"What is this?" Asked the Messiah.
"Clay." Replied the monk.
"Does clay contain spirits?" Asked Prophet
Jesus again.
"No." replied the monk.
Prophet Jesus said, "I will form a bird from
this clay, and I will blow it and with Allah's permission this object will
become a living bird. God gives life to all creation, and He has power over
everything."
Then Prophet Jesus formed the clay into the shape of
a bird and blew it. Miraculously, suddenly the clay in his grip turned into a
bird that flew high by flapping its wings. This is one proof of the power of
Allah SWT through Prophet Jesus.
Surah Ali Imran verse 49:
49. And [make him] a messenger to the Children of
Israel, [who will say], 'Indeed I have come to you with a sign from your Lord
in that I design for you from clay [that which is] like the form of a bird,
then I breathe into it and it becomes a bird by permission of Allah....
Allah SWT has revealed the holy book to Prophet
Jesus, namely the Gospel (Injil) to
justify the previous book, the Torah. The book is as a guide for the people of
Prophet Jesus in his time.
Surah Al-Maidah verse 46:
46. And We sent, following in their footsteps,
Jesus, the son of Mary, confirming that which came before him in the Torah; and
We gave him the Gospel, in which was guidance and light and confirming that
which preceded it of the Torah as guidance and instruction for the righteous.
