THE STORY OF THE PROPHET JOSEPH - The Reunion of the Prophet Jacob's Family and Joseph's Dream Becomes Real

The sons of Prophet Jacob came to the place of Joseph the treasurer of the country. They begged the country's treasurers to pay attention to the fate of their families while giving alms in the form of food for them. Joseph had no heart to hear the words of his brothers about their condition and the father. Finally Joseph told of a person named Joseph and his brother who had been wronged by his brothers. Joseph's brothers were surprised to hear the words of the state treasurer. How can the secret matter be known to the treasurer. They watched the treasurer carefully. They said, "Are you Joseph?" The treasurer said that he was indeed Joseph and he showed his brother, Bunyamin. Joseph's brothers were increasingly shocked at this. Finally they recognized Joseph's strengths and regretted their bad deeds to Joseph. Joseph had forgiven his brothers. Then Joseph handed over his clothes to his brothers and told them to put the clothes on the face of the Prophet Jacob. He also requested that the entire family of Joseph's brothers leave for Egypt, including the Prophet Jacob.

Surah Yusuf verses 88-93: 
                                                     

فَلَمَّا دَخَلُواْ عَلَيۡهِ قَالُواْ يَٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلۡعَزِيزُ مَسَّنَا وَأَهۡلَنَا ٱلضُّرُّ وَجِئۡنَا بِبِضَٰعَةٖ مُّزۡجَىٰةٖ فَأَوۡفِ لَنَا ٱلۡكَيۡلَ وَتَصَدَّقۡ عَلَيۡنَآۖ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ يَجۡزِي ٱلۡمُتَصَدِّقِينَ  ٨٨ قَالَ هَلۡ عَلِمۡتُم مَّا فَعَلۡتُم بِيُوسُفَ وَأَخِيهِ إِذۡ أَنتُمۡ جَٰهِلُونَ  ٨٩ قَالُوٓاْ أَءِنَّكَ لَأَنتَ يُوسُفُۖ قَالَ أَنَا۠ يُوسُفُ وَهَٰذَآ أَخِيۖ قَدۡ مَنَّ ٱللَّهُ عَلَيۡنَآۖ إِنَّهُۥ مَن يَتَّقِ وَيَصۡبِرۡ فَإِنَّ ٱللَّهَ لَا يُضِيعُ أَجۡرَ ٱلۡمُحۡسِنِينَ  ٩٠ قَالُواْ تَٱللَّهِ لَقَدۡ ءَاثَرَكَ ٱللَّهُ عَلَيۡنَا وَإِن كُنَّا لَخَٰطِ‍ِٔينَ  ٩١ قَالَ لَا تَثۡرِيبَ عَلَيۡكُمُ ٱلۡيَوۡمَۖ يَغۡفِرُ ٱللَّهُ لَكُمۡۖ وَهُوَ أَرۡحَمُ ٱلرَّٰحِمِينَ  ٩٢ ٱذۡهَبُواْ بِقَمِيصِي هَٰذَا فَأَلۡقُوهُ عَلَىٰ وَجۡهِ أَبِي يَأۡتِ بَصِيرٗا وَأۡتُونِي بِأَهۡلِكُمۡ أَجۡمَعِينَ  ٩٣

88.  So when they entered upon Joseph, they said, "O 'Azeez, adversity has touched us and our family, and we have come with goods poor in quality, but give us full measure and be charitable to us. Indeed, Allah rewards the charitable."

89.  He said, "Do you know what you did with Joseph and his brother when you were ignorant?"

90.  They said, "Are you indeed Joseph?" He said "I am Joseph, and this is my brother. Allah has certainly favored us. Indeed, he who fears Allah and is patient, then indeed, Allah does not allow to be lost the reward of those who do good."

91.  They said, "By Allah, certainly has Allah preferred you over us, and indeed, we have been sinners."

92.  He said, "No blame will there be upon you today. Allah will forgive you; and He is the most merciful of the merciful."

93.  Take this, my shirt, and cast it over the face of my father; he will become seeing. And bring me your family, all together."

Joseph's brothers returned to the house of the Prophet Jacob carrying Joseph's clothes. They arrived home. The sons of Prophet Jacob told the good news about Joseph who was still alive and Bunyamin's condition was fine. Then, Joseph's clothes were immediately rubbed into the eyes of the Prophet Jacob. By the power of God, the Prophet Jacob was healed and could see again. Prophet Jacob was happy and grateful for the condition of his son who turned out to be fine, even Joseph had a high position. God always protects his sons so far.

Surah Yusuf verses 94-96:

وَلَمَّا فَصَلَتِ ٱلۡعِيرُ قَالَ أَبُوهُمۡ إِنِّي لَأَجِدُ رِيحَ يُوسُفَۖ لَوۡلَآ أَن تُفَنِّدُونِ  ٩٤ قَالُواْ تَٱللَّهِ إِنَّكَ لَفِي ضَلَٰلِكَ ٱلۡقَدِيمِ  ٩٥ فَلَمَّآ أَن جَآءَ ٱلۡبَشِيرُ أَلۡقَىٰهُ عَلَىٰ وَجۡهِهِۦ فَٱرۡتَدَّ بَصِيرٗاۖ قَالَ أَلَمۡ أَقُل لَّكُمۡ إِنِّيٓ أَعۡلَمُ مِنَ ٱللَّهِ مَا لَا تَعۡلَمُونَ  ٩٦

94.  And when the caravan departed [from Egypt], their father said, "Indeed, I find the smell of Joseph [and would say that he was alive] if you did not think me weakened in mind."

95.  They said, "By Allah, indeed you are in your [same] old error."

96.  And when the bearer of good tidings arrived, he cast it over his face, and he returned [once again] seeing. He said, "Did I not tell you that I know from Allah that which you do not know?"

The sons of the Prophet Jacob apologized to the Prophet Jacob for the sins they had committed so far. They were truly sorry for the bad deeds they had committed to Joseph. Prophet Jacob forgave their mistakes and begged forgiveness for them to Allah SWT. The sons of Prophet Jacob also conveyed Joseph's message to leave for Egypt to meet Joseph. So the whole family of the Prophet Jacob packed up and went to Egypt.

Surah Yusuf verses 97-98:

قَالُواْ يَٰٓأَبَانَا ٱسۡتَغۡفِرۡ لَنَا ذُنُوبَنَآ إِنَّا كُنَّا خَٰطِ‍ِٔينَ  ٩٧ قَالَ سَوۡفَ أَسۡتَغۡفِرُ لَكُمۡ رَبِّيٓۖ إِنَّهُۥ هُوَ ٱلۡغَفُورُ ٱلرَّحِيمُ  ٩٨

97.  They said, "O our father, ask for us forgiveness of our sins; indeed, we have been sinners."

98.  He said, "I will ask forgiveness for you from my Lord. Indeed, it is He who is the Forgiving, the Merciful."

Arriving in Egypt, the Prophet Jacob and his family were welcomed by Joseph and the Egyptians. Joseph immediately embraced his parents whom he missed very much. Everyone feels happy. Now Joseph can gather with his entire family. Joseph raised his parents to the throne. All saluted Joseph. This is the meaning of Joseph's dream which has become a reality by the will of Allah SWT.

Surah Yusuf verses 99-100:

فَلَمَّا دَخَلُواْ عَلَىٰ يُوسُفَ ءَاوَىٰٓ إِلَيۡهِ أَبَوَيۡهِ وَقَالَ ٱدۡخُلُواْ مِصۡرَ إِن شَآءَ ٱللَّهُ ءَامِنِينَ  ٩٩ وَرَفَعَ أَبَوَيۡهِ عَلَى ٱلۡعَرۡشِ وَخَرُّواْ لَهُۥ سُجَّدٗاۖ وَقَالَ يَٰٓأَبَتِ هَٰذَا تَأۡوِيلُ رُءۡيَٰيَ مِن قَبۡلُ قَدۡ جَعَلَهَا رَبِّي حَقّٗاۖ وَقَدۡ أَحۡسَنَ بِيٓ إِذۡ أَخۡرَجَنِي مِنَ ٱلسِّجۡنِ وَجَآءَ بِكُم مِّنَ ٱلۡبَدۡوِ مِنۢ بَعۡدِ أَن نَّزَغَ ٱلشَّيۡطَٰنُ بَيۡنِي وَبَيۡنَ إِخۡوَتِيٓۚ إِنَّ رَبِّي لَطِيفٞ لِّمَا يَشَآءُۚ إِنَّهُۥ هُوَ ٱلۡعَلِيمُ ٱلۡحَكِيمُ  ١٠٠

99.  And when they entered upon Joseph, he took his parents to himself and said, "Enter Egypt, Allah willing, safe [and secure]."

100.  And he raised his parents upon the throne, and they bowed to him in prostration. And he said, "O my father, this is the explanation of my vision of before. My Lord has made it reality. And He was certainly good to me when He took me out of prison and brought you [here] from bedouin life after Satan had induced [estrangement] between me and my brothers. Indeed, my Lord is Subtle in what He wills. Indeed, it is He who is the Knowing, the Wise.

Joseph thanked God for the grace He had given to his entire family. So he prayed to Allah SWT.

Surah Yusuf verse 101:

۞رَبِّ قَدۡ ءَاتَيۡتَنِي مِنَ ٱلۡمُلۡكِ وَعَلَّمۡتَنِي مِن تَأۡوِيلِ ٱلۡأَحَادِيثِۚ فَاطِرَ ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَٱلۡأَرۡضِ أَنتَ وَلِيِّۦ فِي ٱلدُّنۡيَا وَٱلۡأٓخِرَةِۖ تَوَفَّنِي مُسۡلِمٗا وَأَلۡحِقۡنِي بِٱلصَّٰلِحِينَ  ١٠١

101.  My Lord, You have given me [something] of sovereignty and taught me of the interpretation of dreams. Creator of the heavens and earth, You are my protector in this world and in the Hereafter. Cause me to die a Muslim and join me with the righteous."
