Ramadan is a holy month full of
blessings. Every Muslim who believes tries to do good by hoping for God's
blessing. If the design of the Shahada Mosque (Masjid Syahadat) which is part
of the Betterpad-Ray (Benteng Terpadu Raya / Great Integrated Fortress) model
can be realized, then one of the positive activities during the Ramadhan month
conducted by the Shahada Mosque / Masjid Syahadat is the distribution of sahur
dishes (eating before Subuh to fill energy while fasting). The distribution of
sahur dishes is aimed primarily at the poor and needy. This division is very
important to do so that people in need can eat enough so that they can fast
with enthusiasm.
Sahur dishes are cooked at predawn
before the sahur time so the food is still warm enough when distributed. The
cooking place is done in the Shahada Mosque / Masjid Syahadat kitchen in
Betterpad-Ray which is also the mosque's office. Cooked ingredients must be
fresh and of good quality, because we should give alms with the best things we
usually consume or use. For example, vegetables must be new and the distance
between time taken and processing time is not long. In addition, vegetables
should not be exposed to artificial pesticides and not damaged. Meat that will
be processed also from animals that have recently been slaughtered and in
accordance with Islamic law. Rice must be clean, whole grains intact, and from
rice that is not exposed to artificial pesticides. The cooks are experts and
experienced in making large portions of food. The team will be led by the chief
cook so that the cooking process can be arranged properly. The cooking process
can also work with certain catering or restaurant companies that can be
trusted.
The food that will be served is rice
and side dishes and drinks. Rice is an important thing because it is the staple
food of the Indonesian people. The portion of food to be distributed must be
sufficient and balanced. Side dishes include fried chicken, vegetables, chili
sauce, and so on. Drinks distributed can be in the form of mineral water, milk
that especially for children, and warm tea. Then there are also additional
crackers and chips (krupuk dan keripik) which are used as "friends"
of food and are a favorite of the Indonesian people. This dish is put in each
cardboard box and given a plastic spoon and tissue with oil paper.
The recipients of the main Sahur
dishes are those who are poor and directly distributed to their homes according
to the data obtained by the Shahada mosque. The needy people/indigent (fakir)
usually do not have jobs, have nothing, and are old, making it difficult to
fulfill their daily needs. Whether they are fasting or not, the important thing
is that they can enjoy the pleasure of sahur dishes. Whereas the poor people
who receive sahur will feel less burdened and can enjoy a decent meal and this
is done for a whole month. This is outside the theme, if the Betterpad-Ray
model can be realized, then it will provide guidance to poor people such as
providing capital and job training so that they can live more prosperously, God
willing. Whereas the elderly who are indigent will get enough per month
allowances for their daily lives.Orphans (fatherless, motherless, or both),
especially in orphanages are also entitled to receive Sahur dishes from the
Shahada Mosque at Betterpad-Ray later. Then the orphans can enjoy the Sahur
meal with pleasure and this activity also helps the orphanage that has taken
care of them. Orphans are entitled to attention and affection. Even the
position of orphans is discussed in several verses of the Qur'an, especially
Surah Al Ma'un verse 2. Essentially, Islam commands that it do good to orphans.
We, Muslims know that the Prophet Muhammad, the Messenger of Allah, was orphaned
from infancy. They, orphans who will continue the struggle in religion, nation,
and country.
Usually during the month of Ramadan
Muslims will i'tikaf (silence while making zikr) in the mosque especially when
the last 10 nights start at night until dawn. So if there are a lot of people
who i'tikaf on the Shahada mosque in Betterpad-Ray later, they also get Sahur
dishes from the Shahada mosque. So they don't need to be difficult to find
Sahur dishes.
