When fasting in the month of
Ramadan, energy in the body will certainly decrease when you move throughout
the day from dawn to maghrib. Muslims who are not used to fasting generally
will feel weak and hungry when fasting, especially before maghrib. Those who
like it will wait and may see the clock to wait for the clock to show the time
of breaking the fast. They will also listen around more carefully to wait for
the sound of the Maghrib call to prayer (azan). In order not to get bored or
not feel the waiting time for breaking the fast, they will do certain things to
distract and not feel weak. They can do anything important not to cancel the
fast and in the form of positive activities, it could be reading the Qur'an,
listening to lectures, cooking, and so on. There are also those who go
somewhere or play something that is not tiring. For me, the activities carried
out should be things that can add merit in the holy month, not something that
is in vain. Fasting is not only holding back hunger and thirst, but also trying
to avoid doing evil and trying to do good.
I designed the Shahada Mosque
(Masjid Syahadat) which is part of the Betterpad-Ray Model/ Maquette (Benteng Terpadu
Raya / Great Integrated Fortress) to provide space and facilities that can be
used as a place for positive activities, especially during the month of
Ramadan. One of the designs used to wait for breaking the fast is the Shahada
tower, part of the Shahada mosque at Betterpad-Ray. The tower is designed to
have seven floors. From these floors, which might be best used as a place to
wait for breaking the fast is the seventh floor or the top floor.
On the seventh floor of the Shahada
tower, Betterpad-Ray, visitors can see the surrounding scenery from a height.
With a location that is quite high, the range of views that can be seen becomes
wider and can see anything that cannot be seen from the ground. They can see
what's above the lower surrounding buildings, vehicle traffic, sky, clouds, and
so on. The range of vision will be even wider if the surrounding is hardly
blocked by taller buildings, hills or mountains. Waiting for the time to break
the fast by looking at the scenery can make them not feel the waiting time that
feels long.
Visitors can also chat casually
while looking at the scenery from a height. They may chat as long as they don't
disturb other people around. Sometimes today's young generation also likes to
carry out self-portraits in interesting places while waiting for the time to
break their fast, and if the Shahada tower is built, it might be a good selfie.
Although this is not prohibited, I hope that the Shahada tower can be used for
more positive activities in accordance with the function of the mosque for
matters of religion and science.
Visitors can read and study the
Qur'an on the seventh floor. There will be provided a number of seats for
visitors who want to read. They can also discuss with friends in matters of
religion and science. And this is something that is expected from the
realization of the Shahada mosque and its tower. This is a positive activity that
can add merit and is in accordance with the purpose of building a mosque, which
is the center of community activities in matters of religion.
I think visitors who are in the
Shahada tower do not bring food or drink to eat when breaking the fast on the
seventh floor. Visitors should break the fast below and God willing, if
realized, the Shahada mosque will provide fast-breaking meals during the month
of Ramadan to visitors. That way, the cleanliness of the Shahada tower can be
well maintained and not difficult when cleaning.
This is the article from me.
Hopefully the design of the Shahada Mosque (Masjid Syahadat), which is part of
the Betterpad-Ray (Benteng Terpadu Raya / Great Integrated Fortress) model/maquette, can
inspire and be realized. Aamiin.
