During the month of Ramadan, there
are mosques that hold mass iftar events by distributing dishes to visitors or
travelers. Mosques will provide the best possible dishes so that visitors feel
satisfied. This is also an attempt by mosques to give alms and help Muslims who
fast to easily obtain fast-breaking meals. Usually they can cook their own
dishes or by cooperating with catering-catering at the cost of the mosque's
cash or assistance from certain parties. And it would be nice if the mosques can
also hold fasting events for orphans so that they can feel happiness in the
month of Ramadan. Orphans who are underage need special attention and affection
from other people who are kind, because they have lost one parent or both who
should care for them and give them compassion. Children who still need love for
their parents feel sad when they are gone. Therefore Muslims are obliged to
look after and support orphans. Even the word orphan is mentioned several times
in the Qur'an, one of which is Surah Al Ma'un verse 2. And Prophet Muhammad,
was also born orphaned and lost his mother at the age of 6 years.
God willing, if the design of the
Shahada Mosque (Masjid Syahadat) from the Betterpad-Ray (Benteng Terpadu Raya /
Great Integrated Fortress) model can be realized, then an iftar will be held
with orphans in the month of Ramadan. Orphans invited to the Shahada Mosque
have been selected based on data taken from certain levels of government to
ensure their status as orphans, both orphans who still receive care from their
families and orphans in orphanages. They will get an invitation letter from the
management of the Shahada Mosque in Betterpad-Ray and the letter must be taken
while attending the Shahada Mosque. Because they entered the mosque, they were
required to wear Islamic and polite clothes.
Assistance programs for orphans
begin after the Asar prayer in congregation and begin with religious studies.
Orphans will be inside the main building of the Shahada mosque and other
visitors can take part in religious studies with administrators and assistance
providers and other guests. The theme of religious studies is adjusted to the
purpose of the event and delivered by religious teachers / scholars who have
been invited to the Shahada Mosque. The scholars who lecture will provide
motivation to orphans and at the end of the study religion will read prayers
including for orphans.
Ten minutes before the time of
breaking the fast, the dish has been distributed to orphans and guests, in the
form of rice and side dishes and drinks. Because children are still in their
infancy, they must get nutritious and complete food. Rice is provided in
sufficient portions and comes from high-quality rice and without artificial
pesticides. The side dish is animal protein such as fried chicken, or eggs, or
fish. Then also add vegetables such as cabbage, basil leaves, celery, cucumber,
and other additions in the form of chili sauce, crackers, and chips. They also
get sweet dishes in the form of dates, and other dishes such as fresh drink,
compote, and so on. For drinks, mineral water or warm tea will be provided. For
orphans, they will get assistence, such as various durable foods such as
biscuits, milk, and other snacks. They will also get clothes, school supplies,
and other necessities. Orphans will shake hands with administrators and giver
while doing the handover. For orphans cared for by their families, they will
receive money in envelope, while money for orphans in the orphanage will be
given to the orphanage administrators. After the iftar is finished, guests and
orphans can continue the Maghrib prayer in congregation at the mosque.
This is the article from me.
Hopefully the design of the Shahada Mosque (Masjid Syahadat), which is part of
the Betterpad-Ray (Benteng Terpadu Raya / Great Integrated Fortress) model, can
inspire and be realized. Aamiin.
